Central School Holiday Social and Art Market

LAKE CHARLES, La. (November 15, 2012)— Central School will epitomize the holiday season Thursday, Dec. 6, with an art market in room 108 beginning at 3 p.m. and an open house social from 5-8 p.m. The event will feature art exhibits, extensive Christmas lighting, live music and holiday ornamentations.

Local residents will be able to experience the facility’s rich heritage as a comprehensive arts center and learn about the arts organizations, programs, and events that Central School houses throughout the year.

The first floor will host a holiday art market that showcases affordable local artwork by area artists. The public is encouraged to purchase one of a kind art pieces to give as gifts during the holiday season. A portion of the proceeds will go towards arts scholarships for various arts education programs. Donations of art supplies for area children are also needed.

Guests can experience the galleries and art studios on all three floors, including the Black Heritage Gallery, Alexander Art Studio, the Mardi Gras Museum, Art Associates Gallery, and more. Refreshments will be served.
