CPSO Will Conduct a Free Boater Education Course

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a boating education course on Tuesday, July 15 at Henderson Implement at 2351 E. McNeese St in Lake Charles from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch). The class is free of charge and is open to any member of the public, age 10 and up.
Louisiana law requires all persons born after January 1, 1984 to complete a NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators) approved boating education course to operate a motorboat over 10 horsepower, and carry proof of such, when navigating on state waters.
Participants must pre-registration for this class by calling Lexi at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3715. Class size is limited.
