Family & Youth Festival is a fun event promoting family life and family values in a safe and exciting environment. It is a day of appreciation to the people of Southwest Louisiana. Featured again this year is Future Zone, a place for teens to explore career choices in a hands-on environment. Exhibits include culinary arts, aviation, commercial art, chemistry, pipe fitting and more. As always, kids of all ages will enjoy face painting, live music, games, hat making, and much more!
Also, Ward 3 Marshal Joey Alcede is hosting a youth firearm and safety awareness demonstration at the Family and Youth Festival in the Lake Charles Civic. The Louisiana City Marshals and City Constables Association, in partnership with the U.S. Attorney's Office and other law enforcement organizations statewide provide this program to reduce the number of tragic firearm accidents involving our youth.
