The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Fast Pitch 56 tournament returns to Sulphur for its 13th consecutive year at Frasch Park, April 26-27. This two-day event features the top 56 high school softball teams in seven classes from all across Louisiana vying for the championship crown.

The tournament is a tremendous economic stimulant for the local economy, bringing in millions of dollars with an estimated attendance of around 20,000 people. Hotels across Calcasieu Parish sell out for the weekend making this a win-win situation for not only Sulphur, but all of Calcasieu Parish.

“The LHSAA is excited to be partnering with the Sulphur Parks & Recreation (SPAR) to bring two thrilling days of the championship-level high school softball back to Frasch Park,” said Kenny Henderson, LHSAA Executive Director. “We are extremely confident in this facility and feel that year after year, it continues to be a great host site for our state softball tournament and welcomes our student-athletes, family and fans with open arms.”

“Sulphur Parks & Recreation looks forward to once again sharing our Southern hospitality with all the teams and fans from across the state,” said Norman Farr, Director of Sulphur Parks & Recreation.

“These teams don’t just travel to play ball for the weekend; in between games, they eat in our restaurants, visit our attractions and much more,” said Eric Zartler, senior sales manager/athletics for the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau.

We are asking all local businesses to help us by displaying “Welcome LHSAA Fast Pitch 56 Tournament” on their marquees or signs during the tournament to show the spectators a little southern hospitality and invite the community out to cheer on these talented young women.

Admission to Friday’s games is $10 per session. Saturday the admission cost is $10 per session or $15 for the entire day.
