Additional Information

The Muscular Dystrophy Association and area business leaders will participate in the MDA “Strike Out ALS” Lock-Up at Coyote Blues.

The “Strike Out ALS” Lock-Up is a benefit in which community leaders are bought to “jail” for having a big heart. These “jailbirds” are required to raise their “bail money” in order to get out of “jail”! The funds will be used to benefit local residents and families living with neuromuscular diseases, such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other forms of Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Muscular Atrohpy, and ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Each “Jailbird” is required to raise a bail of $1200, which will be used towards ALS research. May is ALS awareness month.

There are more than one million Americans living with neuromuscular diseases. Money raised by Lock-Up participants helps to support local MDA health care services, educational outreach, and research to find treatments and cures for approximately 900 South Louisiana citizens living with and affected by these diseases. All money raised in SWLA, stays in SWLA!
