Now that the building has been restored and a documentary about Mervine Kahn Company and the Town of Rayne have been prepared, it will be a great opportunity for fellowship, reminiscing, and making memories of a lifetime.”

Mervine Kahn of Rayne, Louisiana was son of a French‐Jewish immigrant. The Mervine Kahn general department store opened in 1884 and remained in business until 1989. Four generations of Kahns managed the store through 106 years.

Special thanks to students of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette who researched and helped make this premier possible.

Members of the Mervine Kahn family will also be in attendance.
