Additional Information

Award-winning documentary No Greater Love will be shown at the Lake Charles Film Fest on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 8:20 p.m. at Central School Arts & Humanities Center, 809 Kirby St.

The documentary features actual footage from the war in Afghanistan as shot by Justin Roberts, US Army Chaplin and McNeese State University graduate. The film depicts bonds that are formed during the grueling trials of warfare as well as the difficulty that soldiers face when returning to civilian life. One of the goals of the film is to mobilize communities and start a conversation about reaching out to returning soldiers so that those who have served the country do not fall victim to post-traumatic stress disorder.
The film has been well received, winning the Boston Film Festival, Best Documentary 2015 and Mass Impact Award 2015. The documentary also won Best Military Film at the San Diego Film Festival this October.

"It has been an overwhelming response that we have received from festivals and the audiences. What has been humbling is how much people truly do love our service members and how they have expressed that after viewing the film,” said Justin David Roberts director/producer, No Greater Love.

To date, the film has been accepted into the Boston Film Festival, San Diego Film Festival, Lake Charles Film Festival, Napa Valley Film Festival, Kansas International Film Festival and Rehoboth Beach Film Festival.

Note that there are some moments of strong language and combat violence throughout film. For more information, visit www.nglfilm.com.
