Five Calcasieu Parish schools will be hosting a High School baseball tournament February 28—March 2. Tarver Ford will be sponsoring for the third year in a row.
High schools from across the state are participating in classes 5A to 1A. The host schools are Barbe High School; Sulphur High School, who is using three fields at Sulphur Parks and Recreation; Iowa High School; St. Louis High School at Legion Field; and Sam Houston High School. Over the years many teams have given feedback stating that Southwest Louisiana has the nicest high school baseball fields in the state.
Last year’s 5A state champion Barbe High School, 4A champion Tuerlings Catholic High School and 3A finalist Iowa High School will be returning to compete. Four of the 5A teams participating made it to the state tournament last season.
