Fall Season Of Movies Under The Stars Begins October 9th [VIDEO]

The best and most unique way to watch a movie, is with your family or favorite person under the stars.  Experience the movies in a who new light by coming out the "Movies Under The Stars." This is a free event and it's brought to you by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, every Spring and Fall.

It's time to kick-off the Fall season, so get ready for more family friendly movies and lots of fun.  "Movies Under The Stars" are shown at beautiful Prien Lake Park, which is located at 3700 W. Prien Lake Rd. in Lake Charles.  As an added bonus the delightful movie series has been extended to another exciting park, wonderful Mallard Junction Park (formerly Opelousas Street Park) located at 599 August St, in Lake Charles.

Now "Movies Under The Stars" will be shown at two locations every Friday's or Saturday, October 9 - October 30 beginning at sundown or 7 p.m., which ever comes first. Residents are encouraged to bring along blankets and chairs so you can get comfortable. Come out early so you can claim a good spot in the park to watch some of the biggest films at the box office, new to the timeless classics.

Below is the schedule of movies and locations being shown in October. To learn more about each show click on the links below:

• October 9th - When the Game Stands Tall (PG) (shown at Prien Lake Park) - Feel free to rep your school and show your team spirit.  This is a story of an unknown high school's winning streak.  The most winningest school became legendary after, their famous streak shattered all records.
  
  
• October 16th - Rio 2 (G) (shown at Mallard Junction Park) - Blu and his family head to the wild in Rio D Janeiro Amazon.  It's in the jungle that they discover, their not the last Blue Macaw's on earth.  As Blu struggles to please his newly found father-in-law, he and his friends try an orchestrate a musical and encounter danger on every turn in “Rio 2.”

• October 23rd - The Boxtrolls (PG) (Prien Lake Park) - What’s more fun than a troll under a bridge? A troll in a box! In this precious story an orphan boy raised by trolls below the city of London.  He is forced to come above ground and save his family when a human decides all trolls need to exterminatedin the Oscar nominated film “The Boxtrolls.”
  

• October 30th - Hotel Transylvania (PG)(Prien Lake Park) - Bring your cameras! Trashsquatch will be at the park taking pictures.  Trashsquatch is the litter ambassador for the Calcasieu Parish Litter Program.  Then get ready for everyone's favorite monsters in “Hotel Transylvania.” An over-protective Count can stand the thought of his daughter growing-up. Then Drac goes into panic mode when a human stumbles into his hotel and falls in love with his baby girl.
