When you see things like what's going on in Baltimore right now. It brings a sickness to your stomach. I hate the violent situation that went down with Freddie Gray, especially in the hands of the Police there. There were obviously ways to handle it, where death could have been avoided. Of course there are those wondering why he ran, only he knew the answer to that question. But the real question should be why did it take 6 officers to resort to a violent manner in which to contain this young man.

When I was watching the riot video on yesterday, I couldn't help but to go back to 1992 when the riot happened in Los Angeles after the Rodney King verdict. People in the city feel like they are doing the right thing, but their tearing up their own communities. There are people in that area who have built businesses from the ground up. Some have event worked hard to buy those vehicles and other things. To have folks come and want to take things away or show violence to them is not the way to go. Former Baltimore native and Ravens player Ray Lewis went on his facebook today to show his disappointment with what's going on. Check it out here.

I've got a message for the rioters in Baltimore. #BaltimoreRiots

The message is true, there are other ways to handle this and violence is not the answer. I hope that we can get more people to want to get behind Ray and step up in a positive direction. When we hurt our own city and community, we are doing no justice to the fallen victims and nine times out of ten. We are doing more damage to their honor then justice. Let's pray and hope that the people of Baltimore can work things out peacefully and get their city back to how it was.
