AllHipHop reports former NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal broke  her silence today and gave her side of the story on the Today Show.  Dolezal and her parents sat down with Matt Lauer and spoke on a story that caught national attention.  The former NAACP prez was outed by her parents for posing as a black woman for more than a decade.

When Matt asked her point-blank, if she was an African-American woman, she responded I “identify as black.”  The 37-year old said she began to see herself as black at 5-years-old, adding “I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and black curly hair.”

Watch the interview from start to finish and see what she , her sons (who are actually her adopted brothers) and her parents feel about the controversy and more. Peep the interview below.

Radar Online reports Beyonce is being sued by her former backup singer, Ahmad Lane.  Lane is accusing the songstress of thief, belief it or not.  Bey’s former background singer claims he wrote her hit, “XO” and that she stole it from him.  According to the court docs Lane claims he shared his song, “XOXO,” with fellow back-up singer Chrissy Collins and believes it was Collins, that gave his song Beyonce.

Lane has filed a $7 million lawsuit against Bey and says “XO,” “copies the first four bars of an eight bar melody that is looped” and further claims it “contains a four note sequence that is similar to the four note sequence” in his song.

So what does Beyonce have to say about this?  Well June 5th she responded to Lanes accusations and reminded him she sold 118 million records and has 17 Grammys, so she doesn’t have to steal a song to get a hit.  AllHipHop reports Beyonce called Lanes allegations “vague and cryptic” and the only thing the two songs have in common is an “X” and an “O.”

Beyonce’s legal team is looking to get the case thrown out.  Keep you posted.
