Former President Barack Obama was in Chicago on Monday, April 24 for his first public appearance since leaving the White House in January.

After an applause from entrance, Obama’s first question of “So, what’s been going on while I’ve been gone?” was met with much laughter from the crowd. He was in his adoptive hometown in front of high school and college students discussing civic engagement, community organizing, and not bowing out of the challenges that one may face in todays society, said the NYTimes.

It’s great to see the 44th President of the United States relaxed and ready to jump back in to continue his effort to bring change to our nation. Welcome back, sir.
