According to AllHipHop Frank Ocean’s father at it again.  Calvin Cooksey and his R&B son have been estranged, at least according to Frank, pretty much all his life.  During his rise to fame in 2012, Ocean’s dad, a self-described singer, writer, and inventor, tried to sue him for $1 million.  BET reported the singer revealed the lawsuit on Twitter, with tweets that have since been deleted saying;

"Father wanna sue me for a million. Like I owe him back child support.  Weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me."

It was never clear why Ocean’s father was suing him, nor if suit ever went to court. Now comes news Calvin Cooksey has filed suit against Hip Hop/fashion mogul Russell Simmons, for defamation to the tune of $142 million.  TMZ reports, Ocean’s dad is accusing Simmon’s and his website, Global Grind, of defaming his name and character in a recent article.  However, all that could be found was a reference to what Ocean said about his father being “absent.”

None the less Mr. Cooksey feels the GG post was defamatory and offered enough grounds to sue.  He also claims Ocean’s mom kept him from seeing his son.  Meanwhile, Russell Simmons hasn’t responded to the lawsuit just yet, but if and when he does I’ll keep you posted.
