Free Gun Locks Distributed March 4 - 6, in Calcasieu Parish

Beginning Wednesday, March 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. through Friday, March 6, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will give away free gun locks to parish residents through a partnership with nationwide firearms safety education program, Project Childsafe. Below is a list of CPSO locations throughout the parish where you can stop by to receive a free lock for your gun:

CPSO Main Office – 5400 E. Broad St., Lake Charles

South Lake Charles Law Enforcement Center – 7098 Gulf Hwy., Lake Charles

Sulphur Law Enforcement Center – 1525 Cypress St., Sulphur

Vinton Law Enforcement Center – 1302 Center St., Vinton

DeQuincy Law Enforcement Center – 618 E. Center St., DeQuincy

Moss Bluff Law Enforcement Center – 115 Bronco Ln., Moss Bluff

Iowa Law Enforcement Center – 203 Hwy 90 W, Iowa

Central Lake Charles Law Enforcement Center – 2112 Moeling St., Lake Charles

Carlyss Law Enforcement Center – 4525 Hwy. 27 S., Sulphur

Starks Law Enforcement Center – 4352 Hwy 12, Starks

Bell City Law Enforcement Center – 7085 Hwy 14 E, Bell City

“In Calcasieu Parish we have a rich tradition of gun ownership and hunting, but owing a gun carries a serious responsibility. It is a simple thing to lock up your gun to keep it out if reach of children. I encourage everyone to pick up their free gun lock because nothing is more important than keeping our children safe,” said Sheriff Tony Mancuso.

The free gun locks are limited two per family, and will be distributed on a first come first serve bases until they are all given away.
