KISS rocker Gene Simmons made his stance on rap clear earlier this year when he verbally eulogized the genre during an interview that went viral. His daughter, Sophie, on the other hand, has some love for hip-hop, recently claiming to have penned a song for none other than Rick Ross.

TMZ caught up with the singer/model outside of the Maxim Hot 100 party last night (July 30) where she talked about her song writing exploits. "I'm writing song for everyone, which is great," said Sophie after explaining her upbringing that was surrounded by music.

She continued, "I'm working on my own EP but I've been writing songs for people lately. I just wrote a track for Rick Ross which is hysterical."

Sophie's father Gene probably wouldn't approve as he has proven that he is clearly not a fan of rap music. “I am looking forward to the death of rap,” Simmons told Rolling Stone in March. “I’m looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking. A song, as far as I’m concerned, is by definition lyric and melody … or just melody.”

He added, “Rap will die. Next year, 10 years from now, at some point, and then something else will come along. And all that is good and healthy.”

As far as her father's statements, Sophie said he is out of touch, "He doesn't get it, because he's never understood hip-hop or rap," she said. "But I grew up with it. That's all I listened to."
