The most I can tell you about my trip to the 2014 SXSW in Austin, Texas is that I was not ready to leave!!!! Not only are the people of Austin friendly, and a little bit weird, but I also had no issues with my sinuses and allergies until I made it back to Southwest Louisiana. It's always good to come home though!

Below are a few pics and video from a few shows I attended along with my siblings. Call it a bit of sibling bonding if you will, and it was my birthday weekend, so who better to spend it with right? Right! I'll say this as well, this is what I had time to see while I was there, but there were so many artist's from around the globe in attendance, and performing across the city.

Below is a picture of my best shocked face after discovering that the deeper you are into Texas, things just seem to get bigger and bigger…

Below is the rear entrance of The Fader & Converse's: The Fader Fort, which boasted performances by Young Thug (Stoner), Jo Jo (Demonstrate), Rick Ross, Erykah Badu, and many many more! While standing in a very long line to see Young Thug, I watched rappers Twista and Danny Brown pass with their entourages. Danny Brown was quite vocal this week on his displeasure of the commercialization of this years SXSW festival.

Below is video of one of the coolest brothers to ever rock a stage, Snoop Dogg! Snoop hit the stage with soul singer William Bell (I Forgot to Be Your Lover), during a set of performances brought to you by the Grammy's and the legendary STAX records. Watch as  the Dog Father gives the audience and impromptu performance of Gin & Juice, backed by one of the most jamming live bands I've ever heard.

Last but not least, I wasn't a fan of the performer below until I watched him hit the stage at SXSW, actor/comedian/writer Donald Glover who also goes by the stage name of rapper Childish Gambino. All I can say is that the kid has some awesome stage presence, because now I'm a fan, of course thanks to my siblings. I may be a Dj, but sometimes I seek a little outside help to find out who's the new hot artist on the scene. Watch a snippet of Childish Gambino's close out SXSW performance of 'Pink Toes' below. I opted to see him perform considering that I've seen Rick Ross hit the stage already. I don't think I would have gotten the excitement from Ross's concert that I did from Gambino's show. Just my personal opinion.  I'm still a Rick Ross fan nonetheless. If you've never attended SXSW, it may be something you want to add to your list of things to do.
