One of the most moving stories to hit the big screen this year is Lee Daniels, "The Butler".  Starring an all-star cast including Forest Whitaker, Cuba Gooding Jr., Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, Robin Williams, Jane Fonda and more.....this movie is a must see.

If your African American it's important to know where you've come from, so you know where your going.  This movie is a look what those before us had to go through and more importantly displays the dignity in which they handled living in such difficult times.  It's a story about the resilience of one man, the growth of a nation and the power of family.

No matter what your ethnic background you are, go see this movie and bring your children with you.  Like the movie "The Help" it's gonna be tough to watch and even harder to understand why these things were allowed to happen to other human beings simply because of the color of their skin.  However, it's a lesson for ALL of to learn from and hopefully overcome one day.  America has come a long way, seeing it's first African American president, but we still have a LONG way to go.

As a nation, we have to stop denying that this behavior (racism) was and still is a part our American History.  Pretending it doesn't exist or refusing to admit and acknowledge what happened and still is happening "Racial Profiling", "Stand Your Grown", "Stop-And-Frisk", "Voter Suppression" etc. isn't going to make this ugly truth go away.  We as a people, as a world, as a nation have to have to stop tolerating it.  Period.

Watch movie and learn from it and let's all try and find a way to move forward.....together.
