Gucci Mane to Headline an All Lives Matter Concert

Gucci Mane is sure to draw the ire of many onlookers with his latest booking. The Atlanta rapper is set to headline a show in Biloxi that is being called an "All Lives Matter" concert according to The Sun Herald. The show will take place on Sept. 24 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and be officially billed as Gucci Mane and Friends: Stop the Violence Concert. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.

The poster above, posted to the venue's website, has "All Lives Matter" scrawled on it. At the bottom it says a portion of the show's proceeds will go to the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Guwop has garnered a lot of good will since his release from prison, but this decision could cause some major uproar. Fetty Wap recently felt the wrath of online backlash after he tweeted that All Lives Matter following the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Kevin Gates also faced similar criticism for championing the All Lives Matter sentiment.

This news comes at an interesting time for Gucci Mane as his much anticipated album Everybody Looking is scheduled to drop next Friday (July 22). The "Lemonade" rapper headlining a concert with a slogan that belittles the Black Lives Matter movement is sure to alienate a lot of his fan base. This move looks all the more questionable when looking at the actions other artists have taken to the police violence against the black community.

August Alsina was one of the many artists to join the frontlines of protests in Baton Rouge. Snoop Dogg and The Game also organized their own protest in Los Angeles. Others like Lil Durk have shown their support for Black Lives Matter by getting a tattoo for the cause.
