Happy Halloween everyone, as we are celebrating the day where there are plenty of goblins and ghouls around here in the world. Some of them are actually on the political run right now. Of course, that is another story...lol.

Well, as I sit here today, I think about one of my memorable Halloweens when I was a little youngster. First of all, I have to admit I am not a big Halloween fan, although I do love the movies. As a matter of fact, I will be doing my top 10 list of movies on my next post. But I remember one Halloween where I decided at the last minute that I wanted to go Trick or Treating. Now, I come from a household where my mom would ask me if I wanted to participate one time. If I said no, there was no more asking, and she would forget all about it.

Well, on Halloween Day, I went to school and got around my friends. All of them were talking about going Trick or Treating and what they were going to wear for the evening. I remember thinking, man I want to go now. I got home and asked my mother if she would get me a costume and, of course, she looked at me like I was crazy. She said if you want to go, you're going to go as you are. I remember it like it was yesterday. So I decided to improvise and work something out.

My mother used to keep perfume and things like that. She used to sell Avon, and man did she smell good. Well, she had some powder on her dresser. I opened the powder container, got the face beater thing and put it over my face. By the time I was finished, there was powder all over her dresser, but it did cover my face. I wrapped myself up in a white sheet, and in an instant, I was a ghost. I went to tell my mother I was ready to go, and off we were. It turned out to be a pretty good costume, and I got plenty of candy. Those were the good ol' days that bring back fond memories when I think about them now. So Happy Halloween to all of you out there, and make sure to be safe. Also, stop by and join Big Boy Chill this afternoon at the Foreman Reynaud Community Center today beginning at 5:30pm.
