Unfortunately there's no running away from all the chaos going on in the world, including here on U.S. soil. It seems as if everyone has lost their minds.  The recent police murders, killings at the hands of police, race relations and gun violence are out of control in America. Everyone's in their feelings and giving way to the pressure to choose sides. We are NOT at our best right now.  Yet, I know we will get through this. We always find a way to come together and find common ground.  This isn't the first time our nation has been in turmoil with itself and it wont be the last.

Change will come, but it's a process.  One things for sure continuing to deny that we have problems, is not the answer.  Neither is violence.  If I had to guess a little compassion, acknowledgement and understanding would be a good start to ending the outcry for justice and an end to police brutality against African Americans.  People from every walk of life and ethnic background protesting in the name of peace, justice and positive solutions to the countries woes, will eventually make sure change comes.  In spite of the fact that they're being blamed for the heinous police killings of non-affiliated individuals.

Instead of aimlessly pointing fingers, let us all look in the mirror and search our own souls for what we can do to be better human beings.  May God's peace be with you all, especially the families of those citizens and police officers who've lost their lives.

In the meantime, Hotnewhiphop did a blog highlighting how all the violence has effected Urban music's Hip Hop and R&B artists.  The Alton Sterling and Philando Casile killings sparked many artists to make protest songs, like DJ Greg Street's "I Am Somebody" and Chris Brown's "A Lot of Love."

Other artists like Compton MC The Game have organized anti-violence gatherings to stand in peace and solidarity for lives lost to the tragic shootings in Dallas, Missouri and Baton Rouge.  Rap legend Jay Z took to his music streaming site TIDAL and dropped the "Playlist of Survival."

We are all emotional and hurting from the recent tragedies.  Lets search for a way to get back to common ground.  For more on artists trying to make a difference in the wake of the recent violence, click here.
