Today in Tha Wire it's being reported that Houston law enforcement officers gathered outside Beyonce’s hometown show on Saturday May 7, 2016.  The officers were there to protest the singers alleged anti-police message in her “Formation” video.

Formation World Tour touched down at the NRG Stadium and fans were met by members of the Coalition Of Police And Sheriffs (COPS) when they arrived at the venue. For some reason the members of COPS have taken issue with Bey’s decision to shed light on the national police brutality crises in the U.S.

Tony Ragsdale a COPS demonstrator told a Houston TV station, “Some of her performances we believe to be anti-police."  He further explained they members also voiced that they have a problem with her tribute to the original Black Panthers movement during her Super Bowl halftime show as well.  This is what has allegedly prompted other police unions to launch boycotts and threaten not to work the concerts in other cities along the tours stops.

There is good news though.  Not all police agencies agree with COPS actions. Doug Griffith, Vice President of the Houston Police Officers Union, said in a previous statement:

"From the initial release of the video, I think it’s been blown out of proportion. I think at the end of the day most people understand (Beyonce) has no problem with law enforcement.

On that same note, Beyonce made it crystal clear when she graced the cover of Elle magazine last month. Within the article she spoke out about the whole situation getting out of hand and insisted she has nothing against the police.  She said:

“I’m an artist and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken.  She continued.  “I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of the officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe.

But let’s be clear, I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things. If celebrating my roots and culture during Black History Month made anyone uncomfortable, those feelings were there long before a video and long before me.

“I’m proud of what we created and I’m proud to be part of a conversation that is pushing things forward in a positive way.”

Beyonce is making the best of it though.  She has turned things around and is actually using the controversy as inspiration for her tour merchandise.  Fans can buy black Tee's with the phrase “Boycott Beyonce” emblazoned on the front to black iPhone cases and more being sold during her shows.

One things for sure COPS or any other anti-Beyonce organization is going to stop her train.  Matter of fact Formation World Tour has sold out at every venue it's been to thus far and last week to meet the demand, she added seven more dates to the tour.  One things for sure all the controversy will not and is not going to get in her way.
