If you love looking at nostalgic things like me, I found a lot of really great pictures and stories about Lake Charles on Facebook. Shouts out to all of the knowledgeable folks that share these amazing photos and give us the history behind them.

It is so interesting to see what Lake Charles looked like back in the day. Honestly some of the things, I wish they would have never changed. Like the Downtown Walking Mall, it was a unique way to enjoy Downtown Lake Charles. There were all types of shops and stores and it would have been nice to still have it.

I wish Lake Charles would have kept the trolley system too. Much like New Orleans, it would have been another tourist attraction the city could benefit from, not to mention another source of transportation. Be sure to join cool pages like, "If You Grew Up In Lake Charles, LA. Then You Remember...", " Lake Charles Historic DistrictLake Charles Historic Neighborhoods, and others.

They are such a wonderful resource of information pertaining to Lake Charles and the people who help build it. Many thanks to everyone for sharing the history! I just wanted to highlight a small portion of some of the cool photos I came across. On that same note, YouTube is also a great source to find vintage footage of Lake Charles. I found several old commercials and vintage KPLC Newsreels!

These things are pretty old, but that's what makes them so interesting to see. I hope you enjoy these images and videos from the past as much as I did. There is no stopping the evolution of society and the advancement of technology, but nice to look back every now and then to appreciate where we've come from.
