The Iowa Women's League presents the Christmas in the Park and parade today Saturday, Dec. 13.  All the fun kicks-off with the parade at 4 p.m.

Bring the family out to enjoy the city of Iowa, Louisiana's annual Christmas in the Park celebration.  The event will get underway with the Iowa Christmas parade, which will begin at 4 pm.  The parade route will begin at the Iowa VF Mall and travel along Thomson Avenue, ending at Lawrence Toups Jr. Memorial Park located directly behind the Town Hall, at 115 N. Thomson Avenue.

Immediately after the parade, the Christmas in the Park celebration will begin 5 p.m. There will be a chili cook-off with area churches and schools participating. Cookies and soft drinks will be served, along with a Christmas concert with performances by local choirs, and the lighting of the park Christmas tree.  Best of all, Santa will there!

There will also be decorated Christmas tree displays created by various organizations available to view throughout the month from 5-11 p.m. at the park Pavilion.  This event is brought to you in part of the Iowa Women's League.
