Isaiah Rashad had been fairly quiet until Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith unleashed "Free Lunch," "I Mean" and "Park" over the past couple weeks. In a new interview on the Juan Epstein Podcast, Rashad reveals that he's been struggling with drug addiction.

The 2014 XXL freshman tells Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg that he fell into pill and alcohol addiction while he was on the Oxymoron Tour with ScHoolboy Q. To his credit, the Chattanooga, Tenn. rapper takes full ownership of his own mistakes, and doesn't assign blame to anybody. He also says that the higher-ups at TDE came close to dropping him from the label altogether. Luckily, Rashad is making positive steps by working on his sobriety and gearing up for the release of his new album.

The addiction got so serious that the drugs were actually destroying Rashad's stomach lining, which obviously landed him in the hospital. At around the 6:30 mark of the interview, Rosenberg asks Rashad if ScHoolboy could tell that the addiction was getting bad. Rashad answers that, at the time of that particular tour, he didn't know ScHoolboy that well.

Rashad says, "At that time, Q just met me, so we didn't have that type of relationship where we're checking on each other and shit. So he just made sure nobody was fucking with me, and he made sure I was smoked out." He continues, "It got so bad that, last week, what was it, Monday? I was recording and drinking coffee, and niggas thought I was on molly, 'cuz I was so hype."
