ORIGINAL STORY:

Just a week after the release of his highly-successful KOD album, J. Cole announces that he and his team are launching their Dreamville Festival in North Carolina. Today (April 27), the Fayetteville native announced the festival on Twitter, revealing that it would take place in Raleigh, N.C. on Sept. 15.

Both Dreamville Records and ScoreMore Shows have teamed up to put together the inaugural festival, which will go down at Dorothea Dix Park. While speaking with Herald Online, Ibrahaim "Ib" Hamad, who is the president of Dreamville, revealed that he, Cole and the Dreamville squad have been working on putting the event together for some time, and have been connecting with the city and mayor to make it happen.

"We've been trying to put this festival together for a few years now," he said. "It's just hard to come into a city and get the whole city to approve it and (get) behind you. So it was great that we took our time ... and really connected with the city (and) connected with the mayor."

Pre-sale tickets are currently on sale for those who sign up on the Dreamville official site, but performers won't be announced until a later date. The festival will feature acts from the Dreamville roster, as well as local acts and popular artists that Cole and his team have been fans of.

See Cole's announcement about the upcoming Dreamville Festival in the tweet below. Stay tuned for the lineup to come.
