Over the weekend (March 21) I was set to attend J. Cole’s performance for 2015’s SXSW festivities, but due to some unpleasant weather conditions we arrived in Austin, Texas later than expected. Upon my return to Lake Charles I woke up to news that Cole had released thought-provking visuals for “G.O.M.D.,” from his latest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

This is J. Cole’s third video from the critically acclaimed album, as he plays an African-American house slave who leads an uprising on a plantation. He steals the keys to the slave owners artillery closet and leads a revolt with help of the other slaves, servants, and even two of the slave owners children. The video ends with a celebration over a bonfire, as they defend themselves from another group of men who come to access what has happened at the plantation. Watch the full video above and give us some feedback of what you think about J. Cole’s “G.O.M.D.”
