In case you haven't heard Jamie Foxx will soon be playing the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles at the same time, Iron Mike Tyson in the upcoming biopic.  Foxx revealed the big news himself when he sat down with The Breakfast Club last Thursday (April 23).  The singer/actor told the morning crew,

"I just went in with Paramount with Mike Tyson," Foxx said. "So I'm going to do the Mike Tyson story. Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I'm on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since Raging Bull."

With a story like Mike Tyson's, director Scorsese should have more than enough material to work with.  An if anyone can pull-off playing Mike Tyson, Jamie Foxx definitely can. Of course he's gonna have to get his weight-up.   Way up.  Non-the-less, this movie should be pretty interesting and I can't wait to see it.  As far as production and a premiere date, that's anyone's guess.  Hopefully next year though.  Keep you posted.

In the meantime, CBSsports reports the Tyson role isn't the only thing getting Foxx into a boxing ring these days.  TMZ Sports revealed Jamie will sing the national anthem at the Floyd Mayweather Jr.Manny Pacquiao fight this Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. So be on the look-out!  By the way, this isn't the first time he's dropped a verse ringside.  Foxx sang "America the Beautiful" prior to the Pacquiao/Shane Mosley bout in 2011.  Peep the video below as Tyrese and Jamie Foxx show off their singing skillz!

Finally, here's a brief update on the Lil Wayne's tour bus shooting Saturday night. According to TMZ, before two of his buses where shot-up on an Atlanta freeway Weezy was involved in a heated verbal exchange with audience fan during his show at the Compound Nightclub.

It's being said that a few fans got extra rowdy in the crowd and Wayne went back and forth with a few of them.  Eventually security booted them out of the venue and it's unclear what they were heckling him about.  Allegedly the Young Money boss got extra protection while leaving the club after his show.

So far, there's no suspects in custody and the investigation into the shooting continues.
