Great news, movie buffs. There is official confirmation that Jay-Z will executive produce the soundtrack to the film, ‘The Great Gatsby.' Back in January, it was announced that Hov had some involvement with the film but exact details were scarce.

Reuters confirmed that Jigga will in fact oversee the musical selection alongside the film’s score producer Craig Armstrong. He'll help select “a varied collection of the world’s most talented and compelling musical artists” for the soundtrack.

The lead actor of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio, introduced the director of ‘Gatsby,’ Baz Luhrmann, to Jay’s music. Luhrmann recalls meeting Jay. “Leonardo and I were lucky enough to be present in a recording session over two years ago as Jay-Z was recording 'No Church in the Wild,' and the collaboration grew from there," he shared. He also calls their collaboration “a credible and natural fit.”

Baz Luhrmann always brings contemporary with the old in his films. This should be an interesting collaboration and vision of the classic, 'The Great Gatsby.'

‘The Great Gatsby’ soundtrack will be released on Interscope Records.
