JAY-Z can still bring ’em out. Hov put on a show last night (Sept. 15) at the 2017 Meadows Music and Arts Festival, complete with a dedication to activist/football player, Colin Kaepernick.

Jigga kicked off the three-day event at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y., in style, giving the crowd a full 90-minute set of older hits and new gems. Before performing his 4:44 track, “The Story of O.J.,” he offered a special shout out to Kaepernick, the former NFL quarterback who caused controversy over his National Anthem protest of police brutality.

“I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight,” Jay-Z told the crowd. He also shouted out the late activist and comedian, Dick Gregory, who passed in August. “I want to dedicate this to Dick Gregory. I want to dedicate this song to anyone that was held back and you overcame,” he added.

During his set, Jay also brought out Damian Marley for their track, “Bam.” He also dipped into his catalog and got off bangers like, “Empire State of Mind,” “Big Pimpin,'” “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” and more. Jigga even turned up to “Niggas in Paris” sans Kanye.

Migos and Run The Jewels also performed last night. Acts like Nas, Future, LL Cool J and more set to perform over the weekend.
