Jazz in the Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization and is dedicated to promoting jazz music awareness by providing community-based jazz concerts for jazz enthusiasts and their families.  This Sunday September 21st come out and be entertained by the Women Of Jazz live in concert featuring, Charlene "Salemah" Broussard, Jacqueline "Jakisu" Ellis,

and a special encore with Pat Daigle.

The foundation presents jazz through a wide array of facets such as visual art, dance, and the spoken word. The mission of Jazz in the Arts Foundation is to promote the development and education of jazz music in all its varieties, as well as create opportunities for children and adults of all ages to develop talents in all aspects of jazz entertainment.

The ultimate goal is to provide support, encouragement, and recognition to the youth of Southwest Louisiana pursuing higher education in jazz studies. Speaking of which, scholarships are given to students seeking education in jazz music and theory so that they can realize their dreams.

That's why concerts such as Sunday's Women Of Jazz need the support of the community.  These shows are not only entertaining, but they enable the Jazz in the Arts Foundation to give to deserving students and artists.  So be on the look-out for concerts featuring jazz artists from SWLA and the surrounding areas to take place at the Central School Theater at Central School Arts & Humanities Center in Lake Charles throughout the year.  For more info visit www.jazzinthearts.com.
