Update 08-14-16

The Acadia Parish sheriff's office has announced that the curfew for Acadia parish has been extended for tonight as well.  The curfew is enforced from 8:00 p.m. tonight through Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

UPDATE 5:10 p.m.

The Acadia Parish sheriff's office had announced that the City of Rayne and Crowley are now under a curfew from right now until 6:00 am tomorrow morning.

The low that is sitting just below Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico is really dumping tons of rain on the Southern part of our state.  In Acadia parish and in the Lafayette area alone they are dealing with flooding and road closures.

In Jeff Davis Parish, Interstate I-10 is closed in both directions from exit 65 to Highway 165 which is the exit to go North to Kinder.  The Welsh and Jennings area have been drenched with a lot of rain as well causing some roads to have over a foot of water on the roadways.

The Jeff Davis and also the Acadia Parish Sheriffs office have issued a parish wide curfew for their parishes due to high water on roads, flooding conditions and the expectation of even more rain tonight into tomorrow.

Both curfews go into effect tonight at 6:00 p.m. and run through 5:00 a.m. tomorrow August 14th.
