Today in Tha Wire super producer, and founder of So So Def Records, Mr. Jermaine Dupri is headed to the hall of fame. After more than two decades in the music game JD, has a ton of cred when it comes to making hits. So he deserves it. TheBoomBox reports Dupri will join a host of music moguls as a member of this years inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. To be eligible a songwriter/artist/producer has to have a least 20-yrs songs/music under their belt. JD definitely fits that bill.

A bonafide hit maker, Jermaine Dupri has made hits for everyone from Mariah Carey, Kris Kross, and Usher, to discovering Da Brat, Xscape, Jagged Edge and more. The So So Def CEO follows Jay Z, who was enshrined just last year. He'll also be in good company, as the legendary funk/soul group Kool & The Gang will be among the 2018 inductee's.

Matter of fact Kool & The Gang will be among the artists being inducted June 14 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in the NYC. So how does the super producer feel about his upcoming induction?

Yaasssss! Congrats JD!

Moving on, rap superstar Drake is still at it! TheBoomBox also reports the rapper's been on a week-long giving spree! As previously reported he's kickin' it in South Florida shooting the music video for his latest #1, God's Plan. Drizzy's been giving money away left and right...just because.

Hooking unsuspecting shoppers at a grocery store and buying $50,000 worth of groceries, to paying the college tuition of a lucky U.M. student, and making a surprise visit to a Miami high school. Drake made this week all about giving back, and really helped some people in need of a hand. Wednesday February 7, Drizzy continued his tour of good deeds by donating a $50,000 check to the only women and children's shelter in Miami, Lotus House.

Isabella Dell'Oca, Program Director of the shelter told , Miami's Local 10, "He wanted to give surprises and change people lives.” The Young Money MC came loaded down with toys and games for the shelters 130 children, and individual $150 Target gift cards for the 130 women staying there.

The TV station reported Lotus House just built a new facility, and Drizzy's donation will not only help out with bedding, and equipment, but feed 260 women and children who live there. She said, “We are so happy he came out. Our guests felt so special and so loved.”
