It’s been four years since Jill Scotthas blessed us with some new music. Finally, the three-time Grammy Award-winning songstress is back on the R&B scene with her new single, “You Don’t Know.”

Over bluesy guitars, drum rifts and titillating horns, “You Don’t Know" is an old-school ballad that immediately puts you in the Harlem Renaissance at the Cotton Club or at a nondescript jazz bar that only the locals know about. Scott's lyrics challenges the understanding of love and reminds us of why we love her so much.

“Tell me, do you get down on your knees and pray? / That it will never go away / Well if you don’t know what I’m talking about / You don’t know nothing about love,” she sings with vigor and zest.

While the audio track is amazing, the Philadelphia native's new jam would be best served live to capture the true Jill Scott experience. The single is a refreshing return to the music biz, as Scott was devoting her energy to acting. She recently starred with fellow Philly native Eve in the Lifetime telemovie, With This Ring.

There's no word if Scott is planning to release a full-length album this year, but it’s good to know that Jilly from Philly is back like she never left.
