Following a win at the Tony Awards on Sunday, John Legend is now just one win away from becoming the 13th person to EGOT — a feat that represents performers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

With a number of Grammys under his belt, an Oscar for Best Original Song and now a Tony for Best Revival of a Play, Legend just needs to win an Emmy. Winning the award for television may be difficult for the singer as his show Underground was recently cancelled by WGN America.

But don’t expect Legend to stay out of TV for long. Following the cancellation of the series, Legend vowed to get Underground back on the air.

“WGN America has been bought and is going in a different direction strategically. We will find a new home for #Underground!” he tweeted in May.

Coined by actor Philip Michael Thomas, the first person to EGOT was composer Richard Rodgers in 1962 who first won an Oscar in 1945, a Tony in 1950, a Grammy in 1960 and an Emmy in 1962. Following Rodgers, actress Helen Hayes became the first women to EGOT in 1977. Since then, actresses such as Audrey Hepburn and Whoopi Goldberg have also accomplished the EGOT.

Legend isn’t the only star waiting to EGOT. Like the R&B star, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is also one win away from the feat, needing an Oscar to complete the accomplishment.
