Music icon B.B. King has been in the news a few times over the last year in regard to his health.  The 89-year old blues legend has had several instances where he has been in need of medical assistance to hospitalization.  He has battled Type II diabetes most of his life and being of age hasn't helped his condition.

As of late, the Associated Press reports 3 of King's 11 children have accused their father's longtime business manager Laverne Toney of taking advantage of him.  In addition to stealing, they feel Toney is neglecting and abusing their father.  B.B. King's daughter Karen Williams filed suit in late April, accusing Toney of blowing her father’s money and alienating him from his family. Williams says $1 million is missing from her father’s bank account and with Toney being power-of-attorney over Kings estate, millions at stake.

BET reports last month another daughter called police after Toney reportedly refused to admit King to a hospital.  The Blues pioneer ended up being admitted later and was diagnosed with dehydration, due to his diabetes.  Currently, I'm sad to say the legendary singer is in hospice care after suffering a minor heart attack.

Meanwhile, last October investigators were hired and in April police and social services also looked into the matter.  Apparently, no wrong doing was found.  Yet, the battle surrounding B.B. King's finances and medical care continues.  As far as his daughter's lawsuit, on Thursday (April 7), PEOPLE reports a Vegas judge threw the case out. Clark County Family Court, Hearing Master Jon Norheim, ruled their was no evidence found to substantiate the allegations. With that said, Toney will remain power-of-attorney over King and his estate.

PEOPLE reports the 3rd daughter, Shirley King, released the following statement about the dispute, "I'm not too sure things are right. But my dad would never want this," she continued, the whole situation is disrespectful to her father. "I'm crying about what people are doing,” adding. “I’m afraid it might get ugly.”

We send our prayers and wish the legendary singer a speedy recovery.
