Juelz Santana has pleaded guilty to attempting to bring a gun to the airport in a bizarre incident that took place back in March according to an Aug. 16 report by The Washington Post.

While going through security at the Newark Liberty International Airport, guards discovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun in his bag. He then fled the scene—police believe he hailed a cab and went in to hiding for several days before turning himself in. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft.

Security also found several nonprescription oxycodone pills in the bags he left behind at the airport, for which he was originally charged with but wasn't a part of the charges he pleaded guilty to today. It's possible that the charge was dropped as a part of his plea deal, which his federal case was postponed to negotiate last week.

The case has been a tumultuous one—Juelz was placed on house arrest, required to live with his mother, allowed on modified house arrest to tour with Dipset, and was reportedly made to undergo an anger management assessment.

Now that he has entered a guilty plea, he could face up to 20 years in prison. He'll be back in court for sentencing on Dec. 12.
