For those rap fans who truly miss the "Old Kanye," these old school videos of 'Ye in the process of making his debut album, The College Dropout, should warm your weary, jaded hearts.

Kanye West's resident barber IBN Jasper took Yeezy fans on a trip down memory lane last night (Mar. 1) as he shared never-before-seen video of the Chicago rapper. “Goin thru all these old Channel Zero DVDs that I just found. So much #RareFootage” Jasper said to start off a series of Instagram videos from 2004. In the clips, there's scenes from alternate music videos for Dropout cuts "Slow Jamz" and "Jesus Walks." Jasper also shows off old clips of Kanye with fellow Chi Town MC Mos Def during a local performance and West perfecting his flow in the booth. For fans of the young and hungry Kanye The nostalgia vibes of the good 'ol days are strong on these. Check them out below.

Back when The College Dropout was released back in 2004, West was well known in the industry as a producer but not really known to the public. A certified classic among modern day rap fans, Dropout changed the game in the early 2000’s by breaking down stereotypes of what rap should be and stirring up the conversation of what hip-hop means in relation to overall pop culture. Soulfully distorted beats with his sophisticated syntax have become a signature formula for West and now with seven solo studio albums under his belt, the most recent of which being 2016's The Life of Pablo, Kanye is still a titan in the rap game. But it's always nice to be reminded that Ye was once the smiley young MC just trying to get his flows off.
