Kanye West's line on "Highlights" about Ray J has garnered a lot of attention. Many listeners have considered it a diss, but it appears that Kanye West did not mean for it to be one. According to a report by TMZ, Kanye spoke with Ray J about "Highlights" and cleared the air to make sure there was no beef between the two.

The track, which features Young Thug, sees Kanye rapping about how a potential friendship with Ray J never happened due to their relationships with Kim Kardashian..

"I bet me and Ray J would be friends if we didn't like the same bitch / Yeah, he might have hit it first, only problem is I'm rich," Kanye raps.

TMZ says that Kanye ran into Ray J's sister Brandy and asked her to let her brother know that the line was not meant to be anything malicious. Kanye assured her that the line was simply intended to be fun and he was not trash talking Ray J's bank account.

Apparently Kanye needed to double check that everything was good though as he had his rep reached out to Ray J's manager David Weintraub. Ray J's manager let it be known that his client was definitely cool with the situation.

TMZ reports that Ray J is on good terms with Kanye and Kim Kardashian. The singer appreciated that Kanye reached out to him. According to TMZ's sources though, Ray J wanted to make a point that he's very rich and has four television shows as a small response to Kanye's line. Ray J knows how to capitalize on the attention around him too as he just released a new song called "Real Life Playa," which you can listen to below.
