Beyoncé and Rihanna have been the subject of rivalry rumors since the bad gyal Rih-Rih began her rise to fame in 2005. But amidst the rumor mill, Kelly Rowland is speaking out in defense of her childhood bff, Beyoncé, and hoping people will one day just let it go.

In a recent interview with the New York Daily News, the former Destiny's Child singer spoke up about her friend's "feud," hoping to set the record straight.

“They are two women who support each other," says Rowland. "The rest of the world starts the rivalry. They are very secure women.”

Although RiRi received her U.S. music introduction via record producer and industry mogul L.A. Reid after a music showcase, it was actually Queen B who boasted his ear to her unique sound Reid says in his memoir, Sing To Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who's Next. "That Rihanna girl... She's a beast!" L.A. remembers Bey whispering in his ear. From there, most fans equate Rihanna's career boost to Jay-Z, who briefly headed Def Jam and later signed the Barbados native to his Roc Nation management company. And in the eyes of the public, that could only mean one thing: they must be sleeping together. There are only people who actually know the facts, but when it comes to brewing rivalry rumors Rowland has certainly had enough.

Recently, Rihanna also made a point to address the drama in her latest interview with Vogue.

"Here's the deal. They just get so excited to feast on something that's negative," RiRi explained to the publication. "Something that's competitive. Something that's, you know, a rivalry. And that's just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that."

Beyoncé has yet to speak out against the rumors, but stranger things have happened. Just keep the music coming!
