From the 2012 album ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city,’ Kendrick Lamar teamed up with artist Eddie Peake to release part 1 of ‘Sing About Me.’ Part 2 is due at the top of the year, January 2014.

The song is actually kind of long on the album, 12:04 to be exact, with the original title being ‘Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst,’ I wonder if ‘I’m Dying of Thirst’ will be included in part 2, or maybe there will be a part 3. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

When the lights shut off, an artist’s dream is that their work will stand the test of time. The ones that influence our culture are the ones we most remember. Here, two powerful creative forces come together to elevate the status quo and lay ground to their legacy. This is their poetry. Sing about them. This is part one.
