Keyshia Cole’s Husband NBA Free Agent Daniel “Boobie” Gibson Arrested In New Orleans on Assault and Battery Charges

According to TMZ, Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, husband to singer Keyshia Cole and father to their 3-year-old son Daniel, turned himself in on Monday (July 29)  to police in New Orleans, for assault and battery. 

According to Gibson,

"Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife," the 27-year-old athlete told TMZ about the event, which was held earlier this month. "It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved."

Gibson who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, turned himself in to NOPD today (July 29), and who maintain's his innocence say's, "Once all the facts of the incident come out," he told TMZ, "I expect to be fully vindicated." 

Police released additional details about Gibson's arrest, saying he is accused of punching a man at a nightclub on July 8th, breaking his jaw. The fight apparently started with a verbal argument.

Gibson was booked on 2nd degree battery and later bonded out.
