Today in Tha Wire, HipHollywood reports Kim Kardashian is suing gossip site, MediaTakeOut (MTO), for posting stories claiming she faked being robbed in Paris. According to the news, court docs show Kardashian filed a federal lawsuit against the gossip site because they published several stories suggesting she was lying about the robbery, “without any factual support whatsoever”.

By the way, the legal docs pretty much confirm the reality star was bound and robbed at gunpoint during the burglary. The courts papers state robbers “placed a gun to her head, duct-taped her hands, legs and mouth, and then left her lying helplessly on the bathroom floor”. In addition, the paperwork shows MTO was asked to take the inaccurate stories down and publish a retraction apologizing for reporting false news and calling Kim a liar.

It appears the site took the stories down, but so far there has been no written apology. Meanwhile, Kardashian's lawsuit accuses the gossip site of going too far when they posted articles claiming she “faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to milk her carrier out of millions of dollars”.

To clarify, Kim did file an insurance claim for a reported $5.6 million. The claim was for the 13 pieces of jewelry that were taken during the heist, which included the second engagement ring Kanye gave her. That ring alone was worth an estimated $4 million and featured a Lorraine Schwartz 20-carat, emerald-cut diamond. It goes without saying, when jewelry costs more than what some people make in a lifetime, it's going to be insured.

The reality star's lawsuit charged that the gossip site's “reckless and malicious publication of the articles was calculated to cause maximum harm to Kardashian”. So far, it hasn't been disclosed as to how much Kim is suing for, but I'm sure it's gonna set the gossip site back a piece if she wins.
