Cameron Parish, LA. - According to Louisiana State Police Troop D (LSP), a Lake Charles man wanted for aggravated assault was arrested Friday morning (8 a.m., Feb. 6th) after leading police on a pursuit through Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.

Officers with the Lake Charles police tried stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation, but had to contact LSP for support when the vehicle would not stop.

Fabian D. Adams led police on a high speed pursuit for about 50 miles through Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes at up to speeds of 130 mph, before losing control of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata and running into a ditch on La. Hwy 82 in Grand Chenier.

Adams sustained no injuries, but was arrested for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, driving under suspension, possession of marijuana, expired motor vehicle inspection, and altered dealer tag. Adams was booked into the Cameron Parish Jail.

After Adams is released from the Cameron Parish Jail, he will be transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility and rearrested on previous arrest warrants for aggravated assault, aggravated flight from an officer, and theft. In connection to this incident Adams also faces charges from Louisiana State Police Troopers in Calcasieu Parish.
