Beach Sweep 2014 is a worldwide effort the clean-up our beautiful beaches, regional coastlines, Inland Waterways and shorelines.  This years event will take place September 20th from 8 am sharp at area waterways and wrap-up with a brief ceremony at the Lake Charles Civic Center(Lakeside parking) lot at 12 noon.  There will be a pre-event briefing at 1 pm on September 8th on the 1st floor at City Hall (Council Chambers) in Lake Charles.

The main goal, is not only to prevent litter in our communities and environments, but also to protect our oceans and animals that live in them.  This event is sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, where local citizens, city officials and organizations pick-up litter by foot, boat and canoe.  By the way Team Green is always looking for volunteers, so if are looking for a rewarding cause to be a part of, this is it!

Beach Sweep takes place every third weekend of September each year and you are invited to join in.  This event has been a huge success, especially right here in SWLA, which is why the City of Lake Charles participates year after year.

Let's make a difference together.  Volunteers with shallow draft boats are needed.  If you or your organization would like to participate contact event coordinators Mason Lindsay (337)436-8809 or Isabel Booth at (337)491-1481.  For more details about Team Green SWLA call 337-491-1440 or email your questions or comments to goteamgreenswla@cityoflc.us.
