According to a press releases from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Kristin D. Brady, of Lake Charles has been arrested on 294 counts of forgery.

On October 31st, CPSO received a call from a local business regarding an employee stealing from the company.

CPSO was advised by the companies owner that after researching discrepancies in the company’s bank account, between November 2010 and September 2013, a bookkeeper who worked for the company, Kristin D. Brady, 46, of 4326 Ihles Road, Lake Charles, forged the owner’s signature to cash in an amount over $250,000 worth of checks at a local bank.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the local bank, which captured Brady cashing the forged checks.

After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Brady, and on November 6th, Brady was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 294 counts of forgery, and 1 count of theft over $1,500.

Judge David Ritchie has set Brady's bond at $100,000.
