Today in Tha Wire LeBron James played the role of Santa Claus this week, teaming up with Nike and championship HS basketball programs across the country to giveaway tennis shoes.  Trust me, this was a huge deal.  According to reports James partnered with roughly 192 high schools and gave his signature kicks, the Zoom Soldier 10's, to all the players on each team.  That's a lot of shoes and a wonderful way to give back.

After watching a video of LeBron congratulating and encouraging them on a great season, coaches from each squad gave the athletes their championship care packages.  Each gift included a brand new pair of Soldier 10's, "Champions Come Out of Nowhere" shooting shirts by the Madbury Club and a personalized letter, signed by King James himself. Peep the video below to see how it all went down.

Love their reactions!  That's what's up!  Shouts out to LeBron and everybody who played a role in that magnificent giveaway.  That was hot!

In other news just in time for Christmas, Apple has finally launched their highly anticipated AirPods.  The tech giant is taking the headphone and earbud game to a whole nother level with their new bluetooth earpieces.  The release has been a long time coming for customers with the iPhone 7, because the AirPods was supposed to come out in late October.  When the time came, Apple said they needed "a little more time before the AirPods are ready for our customers."  Peep the video below and get more details about Apple's latest creation.

The wait is almost over and AirPods will be available at Apple Stores around the world and certified retailers next week around the 21st. You can pre-order now online, and the orders will be sent out next week.  Just know demand is super high.  Apple said, "AirPods will be shipping in limited quantities at launch and customers are encouraged to check online for updates on availability and estimated delivery dates." Pitchfork reports customers should be ready to wait for shipping on online orders, which is estimated to be about six weeks.

Be prepared because these little boogers are pricey, retailing for about $160 a pair.  Merry Christmas!  For all things entertainment, listen to Tha Wire every weekday and only on The Peoples Station 107 Jamz.
