On Friday May 8th I hit the road preparing for Mothers Day, after being stalled a little getting my oil changed in my car. I wanted to go immediately after that but then decided to get my vehicle washed for the road. Once everything was done I hit the road around 11:45 in the morning. The trip home for me is about 6 hours. My family and I have been traveling this road for about 14 years now and it's pretty easy to go and get back.

I got there on that afternoon and of course mom was at the house and as happy as ever. She is my pride and joy and I always look forward to getting home as much as I possibly can. Anyone who knows me already knows that I love spending time with her and for the most part, I generally don't leave the house. Well fast forward to Saturday I got up and went shopping for her and actually helped out in the kitchen, while I don't cook I can follow directions pretty good. Sunday morning we got up and hit church with the family and had a great time and of course headed home and got our grub on.

My family had left a day early and was on the way to meet me at my mothers house and  this is where the plans changed. They had a flat on the car and I had to meet them about 40 miles up the road to attempt the change the tire. When  I got there, the lug nut on the tire was stripped and we had to call roadside assitance. They came and couldn't do much as they couldn't take it off either. Well we finally got the car towed to the dealership and they had to take the tire off and replace it. I didn't mention that we had to move around to a few different spots to get the right size lug nut for the car, but we finally got it done. We had to have a little breakfast of course and guess who we ran into while eating breakfast. Meridian native and rapper Big K.R.I.T. I am a firm believer of not interfering with someone when their eating but I wanted to meet him.

He was very cool and down to earth and actually took the time to take a photo with me. I am a fan of his music and the fact that he is from my hometown, makes me even prouder of my city. I know this was a long rant, but basically I had a great Mothers Day with my mom and wife, but we had a few snags along the way. But all ended well with a few pleasant surprises that came along the way.
