You won't get Loon to blame Diddy for his turning to religion or getting locked up. The incarcerated rapper explained that he doesn't fault Diddy for the many Bad Boy Records artists who have become religious or ended up in jail after leaving the label.

"I don’t attribute it to Puff," Loon said in a new profile by Playboy. "Being on Bad Boy you’re riding this tidal wave that you can’t prepare for. Like most people who ride waves of that magnitude, they often wipe out."

While Loon - who now goes by the name Amir Junaid Muhadith after converting to Islam - is not mad at his former boss, he did recount some old frustrations with the way Diddy ran Bad Boy. Loon preferred to create more gritty records while Diddy wanted him to continue the style of the hit singles "I Need a Girl Part One" and "I Need a Girl (Part Two)."

"I had a few heated moments with Puff," Loon said. "I wanted to fight him. But I liked Sean John Combs; I wasn’t really a Diddy fan."

Loon claims he left Bad Boy Records amicably, but things did not turn out well for the Harlem native. The rapper quit the music industry in 2008, seemingly finding happiness in converting to Islam. His situation became grim when he was arrested in Brussels, Germany on November 2011 for felony drug charges. He pled guilty upon his extradition to the U.S., and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Loon is scheduled to be released in August 2021, but has applied for executive clemency in an effort to get out earlier.
