Louisiana Firefighters Honor Fallen Brothers
Louisiana Sate Fire Marshall wants to invite areal firefighters and family out for a special ceremony to recognize their fallen brothers Saturday April 11, 2015.
Louisiana State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning and president of the Louisiana Walk of Honor Foundation V.J. Bella, recently announced that the 2015 Louisiana Fallen Firefighter’s ceremony. The event will take place this Saturday, April 11, at the Office of State Fire Marshal building, located at 8181 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge
The annual ceremony, will get underway at 11:00 a.m. honoring Louisiana's fire fighters who died in the line of duty. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service, include representatives from numerous fire departments, fire service organizations, and families of fallen firefighters.
This year’s event will be extra special, as they will unveil a new monument honoring industrial firefighters who respond to and battle fires in the state’s many refineries. Currently there are 106 names on the walls of the memorial.
Browning said, “Whether it’s municipal, wild land, or industrial firefighters, these men and women put their selves in school. of themselves every day to protect the citizens of this great state. We owe a great deal to them. let us never
forget.”
