Louisiana Flood Relief : Helpful Links And Numbers For Disaster Assistance

More than 15 parishes in Louisiana have been declared Federal Disaster Areas as a result of record flooding throughout the state.  The following links, tips, contact numbers and disaster information has been issued on behalf of the Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce to help flood victims with disaster recovery and assistance.

Make a disaster checklist: Contact your insurance company, document EVERYTHING, take plenty of pictures and video if you can.  For more details go to getagameplan.org

Apply for disaster assistance: disasterassistance.gov , fema.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA(3362), redcross.org or call 1-866-GET-INFO, United Way unitedwaysela.org

Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services: Disaster food stamps www.dcfs.la.gov/dsnap or calling the toll-free helpline at 1-888-LAHELP-U (1-888-524-3578), which is now open between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
